Smoking cessation — medical counselling
Structured medical support for quitting smoking — motivation assessment, individual quit plan and, where appropriate, pharmacological support.
Sustained smoking cessation is one of the most effective measures for reducing personal risk for cardiovascular, pulmonary and oncological conditions. Medical support can significantly improve success rates compared with a solo attempt. I offer structured counselling that takes individual history, daily routine and previous attempts into account — with the goal of a realistically achievable quit date.

Quitting smoking is hard — not from weak willpower, but because nicotine is physically addictive and closely tied to fixed everyday habits. That is exactly where medical support comes in: we look at your smoking history, previous attempts and personal triggers and together set a realistic quit date.
Where it makes sense, medication supports the process — such as nicotine replacement (patches, gum) or prescription medicines after individual assessment. During the decisive first weeks I accompany you at follow-up appointments, adjust the therapy and help catch relapses.
Sustained smoking cessation is among the most effective things you can do for your heart, lungs, wound healing and performance. A success guarantee is not possible — but with support, quitting succeeds far more often than going it alone.

Important notes
- Treatment effectiveness depends on individual clinical picture and personal commitment — a success guarantee is not possible.
- Pharmacological options are prescribed only after individual indication and informed consent regarding side effects.
- E-cigarettes and heat-not-burn devices are not recommended as a permanent solution; their use is discussed individually only as a time-limited bridging strategy.
- Existing therapies (e.g. migraine prophylaxis, pain medication) are taken into account when prescribing pharmacological cessation aids.
